In 2000 JG Contracting was established as a residential framing company. At the time, our work consisted of custom house frames for many of the prominent builders on Boston’s north shore.

We quickly became one of the areas “go-to” custom house framers. Employing a staff of 15-20 people, we specialized in “high-end” framing and exterior work.

In 2008 we were asked to look at some plans for interior office work. This consisted of metal framing with glass walls and doors. Our background allowed us to estimate, project manage and install the office system. We realized that this type of installation was something that we could really master. As we continued to develop relationships with vendors of these products, we changed our business model to meet these new challenges.

In 2015 JG Contracting became a “union” company. We now employ up to 50 union carpenters and glazers. To meet the growing demand, we have a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse with full distribution capabilities as well as a full time estimating staff and project management team to support our field operations.

We have grown but have not abandoned the smaller jobs that helped us get where we are. We will install 1 door or 10,000 linear feet of wall systems.
